Mercian proudly presents our Travelling Prize, which supports trainee UK Plastic Surgeons.
Mercian are once again pleased to offer a prize of £1,500 to be awarded at the forthcoming National Plastic Reconstructive Surgery Meeting. The meeting will be held on Saturday 24th of September at the Beeches Conference Centre, Selly Oak Road, Birmingham.
The confirmed lecturers for the 2016 meeting include:

Consultant Hand Surgeon, Birmingham Hand Centre, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
"Current concepts in Brachial Plexus and Peripheral Nerve Injury"
- Miss Gillian Smith MB BCh FRCS(Plast)
Consultant Plastic Surgeon, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children
"An Overview of congenital hand surgery - everything you need to know for the FRCS examinations"
The recipient of the Mercian Travelling Prize will have their clinical papers judged by the senior Consultants present at the meeting.
This award is to financially support trainees as they gain experience in plastic surgery at a centre outside the United Kingdom.
Trainees are invited to apply for the meeting and the Mercian award here and you will be asked to provide a statement explaining your intended destination and the experience you hope to gain.
Please note, you will need to send completed application forms for both the Douglas Murray prize and Mercian award if you wish to be considered for the Mercian Travelling award.
