Mercian were amongst invited sponsors of the Thames Valley Plastic Reconstructive Meeting held on Friday the 29 of September in Oxford.

Amongst the prestigious clinical speakers invited we were honoured to hear from the legendary Professor Fu-Chan Wei visiting from Taiwan, Professor Fu-Chan Wei is one of the pioneers in plastic surgery and microsurgery. He heads the world’s busiest microsurgery unit that has performed more than 26,000 microsurgical procedures. His area of expertise includes: toe-to-hand transfer, perforators and free flaps.

He regaled the audience on his latest techniques of transplanting toes onto hands to restore the function for patients.
